LOUISVILLE, KY — A Bullitt County man was arrested Friday and later booked into jail after officials said he killed his wife inside their home.
Authorities identified the man as 67-year-old Richard Chesher, who was taken to the Bullitt County Detention Center early Saturday.
How the Case Was Filed
Jail records show Chesher was booked around 3:45 a.m. Saturday and charged with murder-domestic violence, tampering with physical evidence and abuse of a corpse.
The charges came after investigators began piecing together what happened at the residence in the 100 block of Williamsburg Court.
What Officials Say Happened Friday Night
According to the Bullitt County Coroner’s Office, Chesher allegedly used a wooden board around 10 p.m. Friday to kill his wife.
Officials said he was trying to move her from the house to the back of a truck when the incident was discovered.
Where Police Found Her
When officers arrived at the scene, the woman was found in the garage. No additional details about her identity were released in the source report.
The investigation appears to have remained active after the initial response, and officials said the case could still be updated.
What Remains Unknown
Authorities have not released a detailed account of what led up to the alleged killing or whether any further charges are expected.
The source report also does not say whether Chesher has entered a plea or appeared in court.
